15.04.26 | The Lock Out Drink Driving Campaign hosts webinar with the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners
On Wednesday 15th April 2026, the Lock Out Drink Driving campaign was pleased to host a joint webinar with the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), bringing together Police and Crime Commissioners, policymakers and road safety experts to discuss the role of alcohol interlocks in tackling repeat drink-driving. 🚗
The informative session explored how interlock technology works in practice, the international evidence base, and how it could support the ambitions set out in the Government’s Road Safety Strategy. 🛣️
We were grateful to hear insights from Ian Marples and Brandy Nannini, from Smart Start, Inc., in addition to Simon Williams from the RAC, to highlight the role alcohol interlocks can play in stopping high-risk drivers from getting behind the wheel and help reduce reoffending over the long term. 💡
A huge thank you to Police and Crime Commissioners Joy Allen (Durham) and Philip Seccombe (Warwickshire) for chairing this incredibly important discussion and for everyone who joined the webinar!
