Alcolocks were mentioned in the Chamber! 📢

The Lock Out Drink Driving Campaign welcomes comments from the Secretary of State for Transport, Heidi Alexander MP, during yesterday's Transport Oral Questions session and confirmed that the Government is considering whether they should mandate alcolocks in the cases of repeat and high-risk drink driving offenders. 🚗

This is an important step in the conversation around preventing reoffending and keeping people safe on UK roads. 🛣️

Alcolocks prevent a vehicle from starting if alcohol is detected on the driver’s breath, helping to stop drink-driving before it happens.

We’re pleased to see this technology being considered as part of the wider effort to improve road safety and reduce the devastating impact of drink driving. 🔒
